“HERITAGE OF BELARUS”
continues publications of the art project “Heritage of Belarus”. In this book, the authors Aliaksandr Aliakseyeu and Aleh Lukashevich internationally reveal the beauty and significance of the masterpieces of history and architecture that are available in Belarus. Old temples, palaces, castles, estates, the works of arts and crafts are an important part of the spiritual and material heritage of the Belarusian nation and take a special place in world culture. The book-album consists of more than 400 art photos mainly made in 2014–2015. All regions of Belarus are widely presented. There is the first album edition on three languages — Belarusian, Russian and English. During the existence of the art project "Heritage of Belarus" 44,500 copies of the presentation album ware issued — a real record for the national book publishing.

ABOUT ART PROJECT “HERITAGE OF BELARUS”
ART PROJECT
“HERITAGE OF BELARUS”
is the author’s concept of the international representation of the historical and cultural heritage of Belarus. The authors of the project Aliaksandr Aliakseyeu and Aleh Lukashevich with three components: art books-albums, films and photo exhibitions create an attractive image of Belarus in the world. Aliakseyeu and Lukashevich are the first photographers in the history of independent Belarus, began to destroy the stereotype of the “homespun” of the country. The project is based on research work of the national history and culture. The project “Heritage of Belarus” has become well known not only in Belarus, but also abroad. Books and films are represented in the collections of the major libraries of the world, in universities, cultural and diplomatic institutions, in private collections of famous people — from Queen of the Great Britain to the Pope. This makes it possible to introduce wide range of world public with the Belarusian history, culture and heritage.
The aim of the art project "Heritage of Belarus" started in 2003 is to arouse greater interest in Belarus, its historical, cultural and architectural sites, to achieve appropriate awareness about our country within the international community.

For the first time after the year of 1990,
the jury decided to grant the highest prize of the competition — FRANCYSK SKARYNA DIPLOMA —
to the album “Heritage of Belarus”

at the 55th National Competition “The Art of Book — 2016”
the prize of the BEST BOOK DESIGNERS were awarded to
Aliaksandr Aliakseyeu and Aleh Lukashevich
with the award of an honorary diploma of the winner

ABOUT AUTHORS OF THE ART PROJECT “HERITAGE OF BELARUS”
ALIAKSANDR АLIAKSеYеU
(in Russian: Aleksandr Alekseev) was born on November 14, 1978 in Kazan (Russia), in the family of a military man. Since 1979, the family moved to Belarus. In 2000 he graduated from the Faculty of Management of the Belarusian State Economic University. In 2004 Aliaksandr successfully defended his dissertation. He is the Candidate of Economic Sciences. He is the author of a number of publications on economic subjects issued both in Belarus and abroad. His academic excellence brought him awards at many national and international competitions and conferences. In 2000 in recognition of the work accomplished by Aliaksandr, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation awarded him a Medal “For the Best Research Work” among young scientists. Since 2001 he has been working at the Belarusian Television. He was the author and director of the TV programme “Shot!”; the editor of the TV projects “Our Heritage”, “New Collection”, “Epoch”. Since 2001 he has an annual accreditation to the International Film Festivals in Cannes, Berlin and Venice. In January 2005 Aliaksandr was awarded the prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus “For Spiritual Revival”. Since 2007 he is the official publisher in Belarus. Since 2012 he has been working in Belarusian documentary. He is the scenario author of the documentary films “History of the Belarusian ballet”, “History of Belarusian opera”, as well as director of the film “The architect Langbard. Unclaimed archive”, “Millennial Zaslaŭje”. In 2014 he graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts in majoring as a director.

ALEH LUKASHEVICH
was born in the town of Lachavičy (Belarus) on March 27, 1972. In 1995 he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of the Belarusian State University. In 1996 he majored as a director and a TV cameraman at CIRNEA International Centre, Paris (France). He is the first Belarusian journalist to have been accredited at the International Film Festivals in Cannes, Venice, and Berlin. Since 1994 Aleh has been working at the Belarusian Television; he created a number of TV projects: “New Collection”, “Our Heritage”, “Shot!”, “Epoch”. In 2001, 2003 and 2008, he was awarded Jerzy Giedroyc Honorary Diplomas for publicism in the field of culture. In January 2005 Aleh was awarded the prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus “For Spiritual Revival”. In November 2005, he was the Chairman of the Cinema Press Jury at the 12th Minsk International Film Festival. In November 2006 at the 9th Eurasian TV Forum in Moscow (Russia), he was awarded the Diploma of the Winner and the Medal of Honour for the best documentary “Epoch of Marc Chagall”. Since November 2010, Aleh is the member of the Republican Public Council for Culture and Arts at the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus. In May 2011, he was the Head of the National Pavilion of the Republic of Belarus at the 64th International Cannes Film Festival.
